We made this for you…

Here’s the story behind the community we’re creating in 2026 and why it’s the best place for founders to grow and create opportunities.

I’ve wanted this for years, ever since I founded Studio Self-Made in 2022.

I’ve craved a community of like-minded, ambitious people who inspire me and push me to be the best version of myself, even when it feels scary.

After building businesses for the last 6 years, I’ve yet to find exactly what I’m looking for:

A group of founders who are building.

→ The founders who are on the path to success and challenging themselves to go to the next level.

→ The founders who face doubts and need people who get it to motivate them to keep going.

→ The founders who want to make a change, create an impact and do something different.

For most of my life, I thought I was unlucky. Until I realised that you create your own luck by taking action.

Which is where the idea for Lucky Founders came from.

A community of founders who are creating their own luck by putting themselves out there, doing things that scare them and saying yes to new opportunities.

And if you’re reading this, then you’re already a part of it!

Every week, we’re going to be sharing insights about attracting opportunities as a Founder, the reality of building a business and how to build your personal brand in an authentic way.

We have so much planned for 2026, and I can’t wait for you to be a part of it!

Hot Take 🔥 How to create your own luck

Here’s the truth → Luck isn’t random. It’s engineered through proximity.

I used to think “lucky” founders were just in the right place at the right time.

Then I realised they put themselves in those places intentionally.

Here’s the truth: You don’t get lucky by accident. You get lucky by being in the right rooms consistently. And in 2026, those rooms will be easier to access than ever before.

The “Lucky 15” Strategy

Right now, identify 15 people in your industry who are 1-2 steps ahead of you. People who are ACTUALLY reachable. These are your “Lucky 15.”

Here’s how to engineer proximity:

Step 1: Make Your List Spend 20 minutes identifying your Lucky 15. Follow them on your favourite social media channels.

Step 2: Become Genuinely Helpful. Don’t DM asking for a coffee chat. Instead, spend 2-3 weeks genuinely engaging:

  • Comment meaningfully on their posts

  • Share their work with your perspective added

  • Be useful without asking for anything back

Step 3: Create Natural Connection Points. After 2-3 weeks, DM with one thoughtful question about something specific they shared.

Why This Works

Instead of waiting for luck to find you, this allows you to take action and expand your comfort zone.

Building relationships with like-minded people will help you discover new opportunities, reach new networks and make the process of building a business a lot less lonely.

By surrounding yourself with people who are making an impact in the business world, you can discover new inspiration and increase your awareness of the industry in which you are building your business.

It allows you to be intentional about creating opportunities, rather than waiting for things to happen.

Your Action This Week

  1. Make your Lucky 15 list (20 minutes max)

  2. Engage with 3 of their posts this week

  3. Share one person’s work with your take

  4. DO NOT DM anyone yet

Remember: This is a long game. You’re building real relationships with people whose work you genuinely admire. This will pay off in the long run.

Steal our Strategy 👀 Fix Your LinkedIn Profile In Under 60 minutes

Do this, and you’ll be ahead of 99% of LinkedIn users

LinkedIn is the free, highly effective landing page you’re not using to:

  • Build a network

  • Build trust

  • Showcase your expertise

Using LinkedIn as a tool will inevitably lead to opportunities, sales and the building of your legacy. But right now, you’re not there, so let’s fix that.

Your Profile Headline

Most people write a label for themselves: Founder at…… It’s boring and not relatable to your customers. Always communicate to your target customer in a way that speaks directly to them.

Your headline should clearly state:

  • The problem you solve and for whom

  • Why you (the transformations you have made)

Your Banner

That 1584 x 396 pixel space behind your head? You need to use it:

  • Your value proposition in styled text

  • A striking image related to your work

  • Social proof (such as some logos of clients you have worked with)

Tip: Canva has some cool templates you can adapt.

Your Featured Section

This is prime real estate that most people ignore completely. What to feature:

  • Your best-performing LinkedIn post

  • A case study or customer story

  • Media coverage or podcast appearances

  • Your newsletter signup

  • A lead magnet or useful resource

Pin content that demonstrates expertise, not something that merely promotes. A thoughtful post about a problem you solved beats a press release about funding.

The Real Secret

Your LinkedIn profile isn’t a static document. It’s a living representation of what you’re building and who you’re becoming.

The founders who get the most from LinkedIn aren’t the ones with the cleverest headlines - they’re the ones who keep showing up, sharing real work and refining their story as it evolves.

Emma and I are really excited about the launch of Lucky Founders, because we know the impact this will have on the founder community, your business and your journey.

We encourage you to share this newsletter, spread the word and prepare for a year of positive change and growth. And if you have any comments or questions, please reach out - we would love to hear from you.
